Photography with a purpose

On Conservation Photography

I believe the true value of a conservation photograph is not in the image itself, but in how it is used. My work doesn’t seek to compete with professional photographers but to serve the communities and ecosystems I am a part of.

These photos celebrate quiet, common forms of natural beauty and respectful interactions with wildlife. They are not for sale, but are given freely to local fishermen who can use them to grow their new ecotourism businesses, to fellow researchers to advance their projects, or simply to give people a new and profound perspective on their own home. Ultimately, this gallery is the work of a conservationist who uses a camera as a tool for change.
